Colorado ISD Names Daniel Mejia as New Athletic Director and Head Football Coach
Colorado Independent School District is proud to announce the appointment of Daniel Mejia as the district’s new Athletic Director and Head Football Coach. An internal hire and Offensive Coordinator for the Wolves football team, Mejia brings 28 years of coaching experience and a deep passion for developing student-athletes both on and off the field.
With 17 years as an offensive coordinator and nearly three decades of coaching across multiple Texas communities, including Memphis, Hedley, Bovina, Ozona, Sonora, Lake View, and Miles, Mejia has built a strong reputation for leadership, strategic expertise, and competitive success. Under his guidance, teams have reached the state quarterfinals twice, reflecting his commitment to excellence and player development.
At the core of Mejia’s leadership is a strong commitment to foundational values: “I believe in building programs based on discipline, teamwork, and integrity. Success on the field begins with building strong relationships and helping young people grow into responsible, confident leaders.”
Mejia and his wife Amy have been married for 18 years and are proud parents to three sons: Alex, Gavin, and Ace. His family remains a cornerstone of support throughout his coaching journey.
Colorado ISD looks forward to Coach Mejia’s leadership as Athletic Director and the continued growth and success of its athletic programs.
