🐺It has been a VERY BUSY couple of weeks for Colorado FFA members and the Ag Dept. April 12th the Horse, Livestock, and Nursery Landscape teams competed in their Area contest at Texas Tech University. The Horse team consistingvof Harley Fernandez, Austyn Franklin, and Bridgett Ostrander. They placed 28th in the Area and 6th in District. The Livestock team consisted of Ryland Senter, Matt Farmer, Raiden Matos, and Tyler Davis. They placed 38th in the Area and 8th in District. The Nursery Landscape team was Lilli Carrillo, Whitney Ovalle, and Raegan Silva. They placed 5th in the Area and 2nd in District.
‼️While there kids had the opportunity to take a tour. We got to take a chance to meet the executive chef (Saenz brother-in-law) at the “Cash Family Nutrition Center” (Nutrition Center for all D1 athletes here at TTU)!
🐺We got a tour of the Cash. Had the awesome chance to relate their livestock judging + class lesson from the week before!
‼️This was a great learning trip for all!
💐Over the last 2 weeks you may have seen a few flowers. Students have been hard at work in Ms. Morris and Ms. Saenz' classes creating amazing round and triangular arrangements. And the advanced classes did crescent and hogarth curves.
🐐And last Thursday we had a special opportunity as a community member needed a couple of baby goats dehorned so the Principles and Advanced Animal Science classes got to watch and learn.
