Drum Major training at the Howard Payne University Band Leadership Camp was a success! Rhiannon got to learn with and perform with 75 other drum majors from all over Texas! She also got to march and play in the 400 member mega band!
It was the largest number of students I’ve seen at the camp in my 10 years of attending! Good to see so many awesome band kids getting better at their craft!
The band director training classes were pretty awesome too!

Students from Colorado City, Texas are building real-world skills in circuitry, mechanics, and energy generation through the KidWind Challenge, and it is paying off!
For the THIRD year in a row, Colorado ISD had teams advance to the KidWind World Challenge, held this year in Phoenix from May 18–21.
From designing turbines to presenting to judges, these students are gaining hands-on experience that connects directly to careers in the growing West Texas energy sector.
Their innovation, teamwork, and problem-solving are generating more than electricity. They are generating opportunity.
