💙April is National Child Abuse Prevention Month!💙
CHS is coming together to raise awareness and make a difference! Along with our dress-up days, we are on a mission to FILL Coach Komppa’s office with donations of tissues, paper towels, and toilet paper. Let’s pack it to the ceiling and show our support for this important cause!
Dress-Up Days (March 31 - April 4, 2025): 👣 Monday, March 31 – Stand Up Against Child Abuse – Wear crazy socks
☮️ Tuesday, April 1 – Peace, Love, and Kindness – Wear tie-dye
🏆 Wednesday, April 2 – Team Up Against Child Abuse – Wear your favorite sports attire (hats, jerseys, etc.)
😴 Thursday, April 3 – Dreaming of a World Without Abuse – Wear school-appropriate pajamas
💙 Friday, April 4 – Go Blue for Child Abuse Prevention – Wear blue (National Day to Wear Blue)
📢 Our Goal: OVERFLOW Coach Komppa’s office with donations! Let’s come together, stack those paper goods high, and make a BIG impact! 💙
🚨CES&CMS - We wanna see y'all dressed up too! 🐺

What’s better than one extracurricular organization working on a project… multiple organizations from CHS working on a project! Our FCCLA chapter member, Yaquelin Soto asked our welding department if they could help with her project! After competitions, she’ll have the help from a few of our Art 4 students to paint the project as well! 🧑🏼🏭🎨🐺❤️
The welding department helped bring her “buddy bench” project to life and she had the opportunity to present the bench to the students at CES! This bench will be on the playground and help those students that are feeling left out. They’ll simply sit on the bench, and others can invite them to play! So proud of our FCCLA members, and the other organizations that helped her with the project!

📢Colorado FFA member and junior member Kaper and Kantyn Harris recently showed their steers at the Star of Texas show in Austin.
🐺 Kaper worked hard to earn a 3rd place for his Class 2 ABC steer. He will go back to Austin March 29th for the youth auction. His steer was also selected by Texas Tech to be used in their judging program this year.
🐺 Kantyn learned a lot and showed well but came up just short of placing.
‼Congratulations to these hardworking Colorado FFA steer showers!

Our FCCLA senior chapter members, Aryanna Cruz, Aspyn Hearin and Shaylah Rodriguez adopted the residents at Mitchell County Nursing and Rehab Center after volunteering in the fall and noticing a need. They wanted the residents to feel L O V E D, so they asked the residents what they’d like or need. After getting the requests, they put together a wishlist that our awesome community members cleared (in less than 24 hours!!) The students then asked local 2nd graders and day care students to help decorate bags and Valentine’s cards! ❤️💌
After adding items and cards to the bags, the 2nd graders loved going to help and deliver them. Visiting with the residents and staff put a smile on everyone’s faces and we enjoyed the trip!!
These senior girls knew they wanted to do a project for the Chapter Service category and what better way than incorporating ALL of their community! They are so grateful for all of the help and support from the community, students, staff and residents that allowed them to put together their project and can’t wait to go back for another visit! ❤️

🚨Rodeo Houston 2025 certainly did not disappoint for Colorado FFA rabbit showers. Five kids took 8 rabbits and brought home 17 ribbons and a "H-Man or Howdy" trophy. They absolutely shined!
‼️To put this in perspective there were a record setting near 2,800 rabbits in Houston this year. In the final drive where overall Best of Show, 2nd Best of Show, 3rd Best of Show, and the Best of Opposite are chosen Colorado FFA had 3 rabbits in that drive which is absolutely amazing. That final drive is approximately the best 100 rabbits in the show.
🐺Two kids and their rabbits caught the eye of the judges in the costume contest where just over 100 kids competed by dressing up both themselves and their rabbits to earn Houston rosettes.
‼️Addison Rivera - 2nd place lynx palomino senior doe, 8th place palomino fur, and 2nd place impersonation category costume contest as Vector and a Minion
🐺Marley Goldston - 3rd place senior otter netherland dwarf doe, 7th place netherland dwarf fur
‼️Kylie Egan - 1st place blue holicer senior doe, best of opposite breed, 3rd place blue holicer fur, and 4th place impersonation category costume contest as Winter Storm ENZO
🐺Lucy Foster - 1st place senior giant chinchilla doe, best of breed giant chinchilla, 1st place senior blue flemish giant buck, best of variety blue flemish giant, 2nd place blue holicer senior doe, 1st place blue holicer fur, 5th place senior triantha doe, 3rd place triantha fur
‼️Kymani Martinez - 1st place senior otter rex doe, best of variety otter rex, best of opposite rex, 1st place rex fur
🐰And of course Miss Morris is currently on the hunt for rabbits for the upcoming school year already. 😃
