As summer winds down Colorado FFA members and officers seized every opportunity to get involved and learn more. Area 2 leadership camp enhanced Kymani Martinez, Kylie Egan, and Lilli Carrillo's leadership drive and motivation at Howard College in preparation for the 2025-2026 school year. Next up was State FFA Convention in Fort Worth Texas where students attended award sessions, business sessions, a concert, talent fun night, the state day of service event where we joined chapters from across the state in park cleanup activities, various workshops presented by incoming Texas State FFA Officers, various State officers from other regions like Colorado and Georgia, and a national officer. There was an exhibit hall where students got to visit with colleges from across the nation along with many business and industry folks. Those attending convention were Kymani Martinez, Kylie Egan, Danica Salazar Taylor, Marley Goldston, Lilli Carrillo, Angel Molano, Dallas Davis, and Raegan Silva. Only one had attended convention previously so they were in complete amazement with a total attendancenear 16,000 members in blue and gold jackets. This continued to add to students excitement, drive, and motivation to get involved and bring ideas back for their chapter to share with others. Many students can't wait to do record books so they can have the opportunity to walk across the stage in the next year or two. Opportunities taken, memories made, and all are ready to begin a new year with a new energized perspective. Wolf Nation Builds Leaders!

📢TASA Announces 5 Texas Honor Boards for 2025
Guess who is on that list? COLORADO ISD's SCHOOL BOARD ‼

‼Five school boards from across Texas, including Colorado ISD’s Board of Trustees, have been named Honor School Boards as part of the 2025 TASA School Board Awards. This annual program celebrates boards that demonstrate exceptional commitment and service, making a lasting, positive impact on Texas public school students.

🔥The top five Honor Boards were chosen by a committee of Texas school superintendents. Selections were based on criteria such as support for educational performance, dedication to improvement initiatives, adherence to a strong code of ethics, and the ability to foster positive, collaborative relationships among board members.

‼The five boards are now finalists for the program’s highest honor: 2025 Outstanding School Board. They will be interviewed on September 12 at txEDCON25, the TASA | TASB Convention in Houston, where one board will be named Outstanding School Board the following day.

Dad of two, husband to our new 4th-grade teacher, and once coached a triple jump state champ. When he’s not leading the pack, he’s on the golf course or with his family. 🏐 Coach Gunn – A 17-year coaching veteran from Sul Ross & UTEP! She’s an outdoor enthusiast who’s visited nearly every National Park (only 13 to go!) and loves turning teamwork into championship moments. 🏃🏼‍♂️Coach Hernandez – Angelo State alum, Head Track Coach, Texas History teacher, and middle school boys coordinator. He’s a gym rat, movie fan, and a coach who inspires his students so much they invite him to their graduations! 🏆 Coach Durbin – Henderson State & East Stroudsburg alum with 6 years of coaching. Loves camping, fishing, and clutch wins, like sinking free throws with 1.4 seconds left! Plus, he’s into living history reenactments (yes, really!). 🐺Welcome to CISD, Coaches—time to run with the Pack! 🔥 #LetsHowl
