Colorado FFA members and Junior members showed Sunday in the Big Spring goat show. It was a tough show. Sophia Ventura pulled out a 4th in her class and Alexis, Arianna, Raiden and the Cazares brothers learned lots to build their success for the next show. Way to go!

Saturday, October 21 ,was rabbit day for Colorado FFA member Daisey Roller as she picked up her new bunny and showed in 2 shows at the Fall Frenzy in Post. She had two 2nd place Junior Holland Lop bucks. Her Junior Netherland Dwarf doe had a good day picking up two 1st places, 2 Best of Opposite Varieties, and a Best of Breed Opposite. She also took a rabbit quiz and placed 2nd in the senior division. We learned a lot to work on to help at the next show. Bunny time was a fun time!

Shake It Off
•In Our *Self-Confidence* Era!•
Our handshake competition finished Round 2 last week, and out of 30 students- 12 are moving on to the F I N A L round this Friday, October 27th. Round 2, our participants had to answer questions that staff members asked them on top of their firm handshake, eye contact and introduction. Our TAFE students, Merick, Kezlye and Lilly have been working each round to organize the rounds with tasks, encourage students, find the judges and more.
Round 3 winner will be announced at our Pep Rally at CHS! 🤝🐺🏆🎉

On Tuesday, our first-grade students had the opportunity to learn from Nurse Practitioner Iris Boyd during their "Lunch and Learn" session. Having just completed a unit on "Our Body Systems," the students were excited to hear from someone who could provide real-life experience and knowledge. Ms. Boyd's words left a lasting impact on the students, inspiring them to continue learning and exploring the world around them.

Tomorrow, October 18, CES/CMS students will be having a pole on who will win play offs between Texas Rangers and Houston Astros . If they are for the Rangers winning, they need to wear royal blue and red. If they are for the Astros winning, they need to wear Orange and Navy Blue. The winner will advance to the world series!!!

It’s a great day to be a Wolf!
On Monday, the Colorado High School Band earned a Division 1 at the UIL Region Marching Contest at Shotwell Stadium in Abilene! They will continue on to the UIL Area Marching Contest at Bivins Stadium in Amarillo this Saturday, October 21st. The top ten bands at the Area Prelims Contest will perform again that evening in the Area Finals. The top five bands in the finals will go on to the UIL State Marching Band Contest in San Antonio on October 31st.

Shake It Off!

A group of our TAFE members have been working hard on their project and it’s been so fun to include our elementary kids!
Merick Alvarez, Lilly Boyd and Kezlye Strain have organized a “handshake competition” complete with three rounds for our 2nd, 3rd and 4th grade students. This project encourages the participants to stand tall, make eye contact and have a firm handshake when introducing themselves. They all competed last Friday for the first round and the top 10 from each grade is advancing to our second round this Friday, October 20. Each round they have added additional requirements so that the winner of the competition can stand tall and proud of their accomplishments!
