🚨 Robotics and Wind Energy Update 🚨 This past Saturday, all of our robotics teams traveled to Midland, TX, to compete for a chance to advance to the State Championship! We had 4 teams at the event (one team couldn’t make it due to illness) but we still managed to bring all 5 robots. Our students worked incredibly hard, solving problems on the fly and helping each other. They also presented their tri-folds, digital engineering workbooks, and paper engineering notebooks. The judges were impressed with our progress and encouraged us to keep up the great work! Here’s how we finished: 🤖 19th, 21st, 22nd, and 24th out of all the teams competing. We are so proud of how our students represented our school and community. 👏 Next up: Our Wind Energy team heads to TSTC on February 26th to compete for the State Championship and a chance to go to the World competition in Phoenix, AZ! 🌍💨 They’ve been working hard, fabricating their wind turbines, creating 4-minute videos, and preparing their engineering notebooks. They’re also practicing for surprise challenges and perfecting their presentation skills for the judges. If we make it through, we’ll head to Phoenix at the end of the school year. If not, we’ll have another shot in Lubbock on March 28th. Only the top two teams move on, so it’s all on the line‼🐺‼

🚨 CISD School Closure Announcement 🚨 Due to the Red Alert Notification and verification of no water on CISD campuses, CISD will be closed on Monday, February 10. To ensure the safety and well-being of our students and staff, we are making this closure out of an abundance of caution. City workers are working tirelessly to repair multiple water line leaks, but with 75+-year-old pipes, each fix leads to new challenges. We want to extend our full support to the city as they work around the clock to resolve the situation. Your dedication is greatly appreciated, and we’re all in this together. This closure will not require a makeup day. The CISD School Board will still meet at 5:30 PM in the C.E. "Buddy" Compton Boardroom as scheduled. Thank you for your patience, and we will provide updates as they become available. Stay safe, Wolf Nation!

🐺‼💙💛The following kids learned so much as they spent their 2nd and 3rd day on Monday in the San Angelo Stock Show barns. For many it was their first year to show. FFA members have spent the past 6-8 months feeding, grooming, and training their animals in preparation for this day. Though the outcomes weren't what some had hoped the knowledge gained to prepare for the next year has been great! Angel Molano did get pulled⭐ in his class which put him in the top third of a class of 67 goats. Showing does 🐐 on Sunday was Jameis Casarez and Pryce Pinkerton. Showing in the ag mechanics barn with his fencing tool was Pryce Pinkerton. He received a blue ribbon. 🙌 And showing market wether goats on Monday was Angel Molano, Alexis Martinez, Danica Salazar-Taylor, Lyla Ramon, Rocky Gonzalez, Arianna Martinez, Raiden Matos, and Victor Gonzalez. Way to go on a job well done! 👏
