Colorado FFA members Matt Farmer, Ronnie Sumruld, Daisey Roller, and Raiden Matos rounded out the barrows at the San Antonio barrow show this past week. All members did a great job whether it was their first time or they were a seasoned pro. They were troopers with the constant weighing, watering, and feeding to have their animal at just the right weight. They learned how to turn in their pigs weight through the app and check to see that they weren't left out of the class. And the big challenge is a trip to the wash rack. Sounds easy but once you get there it seems things you thought you had control of just go amuck and pigs gain a mind of their own.
Hard work paid off for Matt Farmer as he had a 2nd place Duroc that made the sale and offered him another trip to San Antonio on Friday to represent for his sale hole. Congrats to all exhibitors on a job well done!

Those competing where:
Girls Singles: Brinley Quinn and Elaina Eckhardt
Girls Doubles: Madison Ornelas/Jordan Wooddell
Boys Singles: Ethan Haren
Boys Doubles: Shawn Fields/Caleb Saleem
Everyone competing won at least one of their matches. Ethan Haren and Elaina Eckhardt were knocked out in the quarterfinals.
Brinley Quinn finished strong with a 2nd place finish going 4-1 in her matches for the day. 🐺‼🎾
