🐺🌳Colorado FFA Floriculture and Nursery Landscape teams had an intense practice and competed in the state contest in Huntsville TX April 26-28. 🌳🐺
These kids worked hard this year to gain new information and strategies to identify tricky plants, diseases, deficiencies, flowers, and tools as well as be able to figure a bill of sale for arrangements or read a landscape plan not to mention being ready for various horticulture type questions. When you are competing against the best in the state it gets tough! Both teams had personal best individual scores as well as team scores. Some raised there scores 500-650 points from the start of the season. Both teams pulled ahead of the teams from their area that had previously beat them. The floriculture team managed to pull ahead of over half of their competition. These kids did a fantastic job and are already preparing to better themselves next year. Mallory Carreon is our only senior and she will be greatly missed with her personal best score that put her 35th out of approximately 240 in the state.
