Schools out and kids are out having fun for the holidays. Colorado FFA members Morgan Scott and Kymani Martinez packed up and wrapped all the goodies that were purchased for the Mitchell County Nursing Home after funds were raised from the Bake Sale FFA members did on November 21st at Gas N Grub. The community was amazing!
Colorado FFA members Kara Martin, Kymani Martinez, and Daisey Roller showed up as soon as school was out on Wednesday and helped load 50 gift sacks and took to the Nursing home to deliver to residents. Each resident received 2 chapsticks, 2 lotions, a blanket, a pair of diabetic socks, and an adult large piece puzzle. Both FFA members and residents had an enjoyable time sharing stories and giving and receiving gifts. Residents Floyd and Nina were happy to take a picture with us before kids passed out gifts.

‼️🐺‼️Each day we potentionally could have any of a number of issues arise and today Colorado High ag student Carli Garrison checked with Miss Morris about a low tire. This led to learning some life lessons this about proper tire pressure and how properly inflated it keeps you safe.
PSA: As it is getting colder be sure to check your tire pressure on your vehicle as it drops this time of year due to the cooler temperatures. Stay safe out there from the Colorado High Ag Dept. ‼️🐺‼️

Colorado FFA members and junior members were hard at it again this past weekend showing off their projects.
Several kids attended the Abilene High FFA Alumni jackpot. Morgan and Paisley Scott and Carli Garrison showed pigs where Morgan received Champion Senior Showmanship and Paisley received Reserve Champion Light OPB with her Chester gilt. To help pass the time they did a little country line dancing in between the pens while they waited for their breed.
At the same show Alexis and Arianna Martinez, Raiden Matos, Sophia Ventura, Jameis and Kendrys Casarez showed goats. Sophia had a 2nd place goat, and Kendrys had a 2nd place Peewee showmanship.
Great job to all these exhibitors for all their hard work and dedication to continually making themselves better showman!

During flu season, it's normal for parents to worry about their children getting sick. Taking some simple steps can go a long way in ensuring their well-being.
- Encourage your child to wash their hands frequently with soap and water for at least 20 seconds.
- When soap and water aren't available, hand sanitizer can be a great substitute.
- Remind your child not to touch their face, especially their eyes, nose, and mouth.
- Make sure your child covers their nose and mouth with a tissue or elbow when they cough or sneeze.
- Dispose of used tissues properly.
- Try to avoid being too close to people who are feeling sick, if possible.
- Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces in your home, such as doorknobs and toys.
In addition to these tips, you may also want to make sure your child is getting enough vitamin C. Vitamin C is known to support the immune system and can help reduce the duration and severity of colds and flu.
Some foods that are rich in vitamin C include oranges, strawberries, kiwi, bell peppers, broccoli, Brussels sprouts, and spinach.

In the first picture, they won three out of four games at the Lamesa Tournament, and in the second picture, they are competing at the Stanton Tournament with two wins and one loss so far.
