And to finish the week Lucy showed 2 Dwarf Hotot rabbits a Dwarf Hotot junior doe - 2nd place thanks to Chloe Santana and a Dwarf Hotot senior doe thanks to Katy Mae Sheets and we watched the 5 judges select the top 4 Best of Show rabbits to end the show. Then across the grounds early the next morning Sophia Ventura showed her market goat in a very tough ring. The judge looked at her and felt her goat several times but unfortunately that is as far as she made it. Congratulations on a job well done for all exhibitors and the hard work they have put in getting to this level of competition with their animals! # ThisIsWolfNation

Wave 2
With each rabbit show day they provide a bubble gum party for the exhibitors where they get fed lunch, are able to play a few games for prizes, get faces painted, and visit with other exhibitors across the state. These kids did all of that and even found themselves helping other exhibitors from time to time. There was even a small amount of down time where kids visited the Ag Adventures area and learned some valuable agriculture facts as well as got to play with some birds in the flight pen.
During wave 2 we had 4 members Kara Martin, Lucy Foster, Daisey Roller, and Kymani Martinez show their rabbits and Lucy, Daisey, and Kymani participated in the costume contest. Members showed the following and successes included:
Kara - Rex senior doe
Lucy - Netherland Dwarf senior doe, Mini Satin senior doe - 4th place, and Mini Satin senior buck - 1st place and Best of Opposite Variety
Daisey - Netherland Dwarf senior doe - 1st place and Best of Opposite Variety, and a Holland Lop senior buck
Kymani - Dutch senior buck - 4th place
Way to go on some great rabbit placings!

It has been a busy start to March for several Colorado FFA members and their advisor Miss Morris as they took their rabbits to the Houston Livestock Show March 1-6. As rabbits keep growing in Houston they moved from 2 waves of rabbits last year to 3 waves of rabbits this year. We learned that there was 2,395 rabbits there this year and 50 of the 52 American Rabbit Breeders Association breeds were represented. It is a large show where we learned a lot, met many new friends across the state, and had success for every member.
Kara Martin - Flemish Giant senior buck and she placed 5th in the rodeo theme category for the costume contest bringing home a rosette
Lucy Foster - Flemish Giant senior doe, Giant Chinchilla senior doe, and Intermediate Satin buck. Her Siamese Satin buck placed 1st and Best of Opposite Variety
Great job getting things shown!
