‼️🐺🎾 CHS Tennis competed Thursday and Friday at the Sterling CIty Tennis tournament and had some solid results.
Thursday, Ethan Haren competed in the Boys Singles division where he advanced to the semifinals where he lost. He played in the 3rd place match and came out on top for a 3rd place finish.
Jordan Wooddell and Madison competed in the GIrls Doubles divisions and they too advanced to the semifinals where they came up short. They played in the 3rd place match but lost a close one to finish 4th.
Friday saw 3 more Wolves and Lady Wolves competing all in singles.
Ismael Aguirre, boys singles, lost his first match but followed that up with a win in the consolation bracket before losing the next match.
Elaina Eckhardt, girls singles, had similar results. She lost her opening match before winning her first match in the consolation match before falling in a very close match the next round.
Brinley Quinn, girls singles, had the top results of all the Wolves and Lady Wolves. Brinley won her first 2 matches convincingly.
The semifinal match was a lot closer and tougher match, but she was able to hold off the young lady from Irion Co. making it to the championship match. However, she came up a little bit short in the Championship match to bring home a 2nd Place finish.
Everyone competed well and it was a good test for district. The Lady Wolves and Wolves will have one more tune up Thursday before District April 22nd.
The site for district has been changed to Irion Co. but the date will remain April 22nd.

CHS Senior Standout - Braelyn Sparks ‼🐺‼
On Monday, April 1st, Braelyn Sparks attended an interview in Dallas for the Terry Foundation Scholarship via Texas Tech University. From a pool of 635 applicants, she distinguished herself as one of the top 45 candidates and earned the opportunity for an interview. The scholarship committee is tasked with choosing 24 Terry Scholars from these interviews, each receiving a comprehensive scholarship covering all expenses at Texas Tech. We anticipate hearing the results by mid-April.
On Thursday, April 4th, Braelyn Sparks received an email informing her that she had been named a finalist for the Hagan Scholarship, a prestigious nationwide program. This scholarship offers substantial support, providing up to $60,000 over four years of study. While uncertain about the implications of being a "finalist," we are diligently completing the requested supplemental information, hopeful for a favorable outcome.
Way to achieve, Braelyn‼🌟 🐺‼
