🚨 ATTENTION WOLF NATION: 🚨 UIL UPDATE FROM RAY ZEPEDA, UIL ATHLETIC DIRECTOR 🏀 "Basketball season is officially underway for both our girls' and boys' teams, and while we’re excited to be back on the hardwood, we’ve encountered a concerning issue early on. In just the first two weeks of the girls' basketball season, we had 47 ejections, with 31 of those related to physical altercations on the court. After one week of boys' basketball, we’ve had 20 ejections, including 10 involving physical altercations. This trend is unacceptable. On several occasions, benches cleared, and spectators entered the court, creating unsafe and volatile situations. While many of our coaches and athletes are showing great sportsmanship, the actions of a few are casting a negative shadow on the game we all love and respect." ‼Coach Leaf added this as a reminder‼ "CISD is NOT going to be ONE of those districts. We must work together to create an atmosphere of good sportsmanship. To all fans, parents, and coaches: please CHEER on our student-athletes and promote a positive environment for both competition and the officials. When we yell at the officials, it reflects poorly on our athletes. Let’s ENCOURAGE, not DISCOURAGE, everyone participating in the game.
