6th Grade participated in a cross curricular activity today in class. The students are studying about using observations and descriptive language in their writing. They are beginning to study Properties of Matter in Science. They moved to different stations making observations of objects such as sponges, cubes, mirrors, different types of balls, sugar, salt, sand, candy, and gold fish crackers. They used their five senses to describe the objects in complete sentences. The students discussed how they could use their five senses to add descriptive details to their writing.

This letter went home today at the CES/CMS campus. If you plan to take your student home from the CHS pep rally on Friday, please fill out and return this note by Thursday morning to keep from having to go back to your child's campus to sign them out.
Even some of the CMS teachers joined the students in portraying movie characters on Movie Character Monday!
