Denice Bradbury

The  CTE spotlight focused on Denice Bradbury!

Mrs. Bradbury says the following about herself and her classes:

"I attended Hardin-Simmons University as an adult and started my teaching career later in life. This is my 16th year in education and I can't think of anything else I'd rather be doing! I teach 2 CTE Classes at CMS: Computer Science, and Principles of Ag in the AFNR pathway. My husband and I own and operate a farm and ranch so being passionate about the Principles of Ag class came natural and it’s easily my favorite to teach! In Principles of Ag, we have learned about the history of agriculture, the struggles of agricultural life, leadership skills, how to properly fill out a job application, how to dress for an interview, how to type up a proper resume, parliamentary procedure for conducting a business meeting, along with all the standard FFA first year things. Many of my students paid dues to join FFA and participated in the fundraisers. We have learned the FFA Motto and Creed, symbols for the emblem, and all things about what wearing the Blue and Gold mean... the FFA Code of Ethics. We chose a service project for the fall semester and collected warm socks for the nursing home residents. We also made Christmas door decorations for the resident's rooms and distributed them the week before Christmas. Along with learning about FFA, students have been recording their time spent in SAE's for their FFA record books for the future. In October of this year, we participated in Texas Farm Bureau's Jumpstart program. This program reinforced some of the leadership modules we had already covered and more. Students were recognized by TFB with a certificate, a t-shirt, and a key chain for completing their program. All in all we have a lot of fun while learning to be better stewards of the land and the skills it takes to be a leader!"

Mrs. Bradbury adds a unique perspective and passion to our CISD family and puts "Don't talk about it, be about it" into action!
