Students Will Travel To FCCLA Meeting

On Thursday, February 9, 2023, 11 CISD students will be traveling to Lubbock to attend the Regional Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) meeting.

What is FCCLA? FCCLA is a national nonprofit student organization that helps youth develop leadership and workplace skills to prepare for college and careers through peer-to-peer education, community engagement, and applying skills learned in the Family and Consumer Sciences (FCS) classroom.

FCCLA encourages students to balance career and family responsibilities, develop leadership skills, and practice science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) skills.

CISD student members of FCCLA are engaged in opportunities for personal development and preparation for adult life. Members gain an understanding of employability skills by developing teamwork, creativity, leadership, responsibility, and time management skills.

Our students will attend the regional meeting Thursday and Friday of this week. Look for an update on our Wolves participating at the FCCLA Regional Meeting.
