Colorado ISD Responds to Smoke at Colorado Elementary School
COLORADO CITY, Texas - Colorado ISD responded today to smoke reported in the Assistant Principal’s office at Colorado Elementary School.
Out of an abundance of caution, CES and CMS students and staff were evacuated to the MP while local fire and police departments, along with district maintenance personnel, evaluated the area. Colorado High School was also briefly evacuated as a precaution.
The source of the smoke was determined to be an issue with an air conditioning unit involving the motor. The necessary adjustment has been made, and there is no risk to students or staff.
All campuses have been cleared, and students and staff have returned to their normal school day.
Colorado ISD appreciates the quick response of our local first responders, maintenance team, staff, and students. The safety of our students and staff remains our highest priority.
