Colorado ISD is proud to announce the hiring of Jordan Palacios as the next principal of Colorado High School.

Palacios brings more than a decade of experience in education, along with a leadership style rooted in relationships, consistency, and a genuine investment in students. The district is excited to welcome him to CHS and looks forward to the impact he will have on the campus and throughout the community.

He currently serves as assistant principal at Abilene High School, where he has led campus efforts in student discipline, attendance systems, and teacher evaluation. In that role, he has helped build a structured, supportive environment where students are held to high expectations while also being given the support to meet them. His leadership reflects a steady presence and a clear focus on what is best for students.

Before moving into administration, Palacios spent several years in the classroom and on the field as a math teacher, coach, and athletic coordinator in both Abilene ISD and Sweetwater ISD. He has experience at both the middle and high school levels, teaching Honors Algebra and 8th grade math while coaching football, basketball, and track. Those experiences have shaped a well-rounded approach to leadership and a deep understanding of how students grow both inside and outside the classroom.

Palacios holds a Master of Education from the University of Texas Permian Basin and a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology. He is certified as a principal and holds certifications in instructional leadership and mathematics.

Colorado ISD Superintendent Dr. Larry Polk Jr. said Palacios is the kind of leader who understands both the responsibility and the opportunity of leading a high school campus.

“We are excited to welcome Mr. Palacios to Colorado ISD. He is a leader who understands that strong schools are built on relationships, high expectations, and a commitment to every student. He connects with people, leads with purpose, and will be a great fit for Colorado High School and our community.”

Palacios and his wife, Bekki, have two sons, Jordan Jr. and Raiden.

Colorado ISD is proud to welcome the Palacios family to Wolf Nation, a community that takes pride in who it is and who it represents.
