CISD

November 6-10 is National School Psychology Week. Parents and guardians of CISD students are invited to refer their students for counseling through the district's website. Mrs. Tia Follis, LPC-A, provides in-house counseling for students as a part of CISD's comprehensive support services. CISD is committed to ensuring every student has access to the resources they need to excel academically and emotionally by offering counseling services and other mental health initiatives.

CISD is delighted to offer ParentGuidance.org, a free and confidential website exclusively for families. The website was developed by licensed therapists, providing specialized courses, professional support, and a secure community for parents to learn how to support their children. ParentGuidance.org is an excellent resource for parents seeking answers to mental health questions such as anxiety, depression, self-worth, grief and loss, suicide ideation, family strife, and other mental health concerns. Popular courses include "Parenting with a Purpose" and "Unlocking Your Inner Parent Superhero," which offer parents tools to form stronger bonds with their children.

We are also hosting a Family Mental Health Night, an upcoming virtual event on Wednesday, December 13th, from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. You can use this link https://events.parentguidance.... to register for the event. Dr. Kevin Skinner, ParentGuidance.org's clinical director, and a Marriage and Family Therapist, will be present to answer any questions you may have. ParentGuidance.org is free and confidential, you can look for the ParentGuidance.org logo on our website to access this new service available to parents within our district.
